I GUESS we took on this build as a challenge (another one)… can we make a 500 cc Harley-Davidson look tough? The answer is yes! Straight up we went for a set of Fat 50 Radial spoked wheels, and with a bit of machining we have been able to retain the standard final belt drive.
We figured the front wheel would look right at home bolted into a nice short DNA Springer front-end. A 5.75-inch Bates headlight and a set of flat-bars with an integrated speedo mount finished the look. White wall lettering, Taverner Motorsports, thanks to GC White Walls.
A NRC tail-tidy/indicator unit and a set of slammer shocks finished the back-end off nicely. A S&S air-cleaner assembly and a set of our in-house made 2-into-1 exhaust get the little 500 cc engine breathing a bit easier. A set of KCA forward controls and a re-trimmed seat by Lee Brothers Upholstery get the rider sitting in a much more traditional riding position.
We are not quite finished yet… we feel there are a few additions we could make so already have plans underway!
PS: The Tough Street 500 was sold to a well known rugby league player shortly after we finished it. Unfortunately, he was not keen to be part of the story and we respect his wish for privacy.
