Harley-Davidson Rocker C Make-Over

Gowie started with a standard Rocker C as the foundation for his very individual custom bike.

I BOUGHT this Rocker C from Gold Coast Harley-Davidson as a standard bike—although it had that chopper look that I wanted for my custom project. It rolled off the showroom floor and it was straight down the highway to Dragway Engineering where Ian Splat was ready to take over.

The next day my bike was under construction making way for new fabricated front and rear guards, an under-seat-cover to hide the inner swingarm, and also new 3-D Legacy Dragway wheels, disc rotors and belt drive.

The wheels are 21-inch front and 18-inch x 240 mm rear.

In the meantime I was hunting around for a spray-painter, handlebars and some bits and pieces. I went with traditional flames and a simple clean look with my name airbrushed under the seat. Thanks to Bruce at Custom Airbrush in Slacks Creek.

The handlebars were the first Rocker Rollers fabricated by Burleigh Bars on the Gold Coast, and yes, they are FAT. Thanks Kurts.

The guns on both sides of the bike were my personal touch made by hand from 25 mm alloy with many hours in the shed and a lot of f*cking filing.

Now I needed noise and power with a set of Vance & Hines pipes and a Wimmer air-intake spike with a performance race tuner.

I spent a lot of $$$ on extra bling to make the bike a real head turner. Not bad for my first ride.
