Harley-Davidson Classic Springer Bobber

This 2005 Harley-Davidson Softail was customised in the motorcycle workshop of Lord Drake Kustoms in Miami (USA).

TO BE more radical and authentic, a Harley-Davidson Softail with an authentic springer front-end was chosen for this old school bobber custom,” said Fran Manen (Lord Drake Kustom’s owner). “The first thing was to undress the Softail chassis, removing the oil tank along with all the original engine and transmission covers; we had to cut the entire rear of the chassis to start shaping this beauty. The handmade rear fender and oil tank, in addition to the base of the fuel tank and the base and the entire seat, the handlebars and the exhaust pipes, all were manufactured at Lord Drake Kustoms. Finally, a couple of amazing wheels with big spokes give this Harley the bobber look.

“The finishes were very simple: pure steel with the rust that characterises it, and semi-gloss lacquer to protect the fenders and fuel tank. Black powder-coat with textured or gloss was applied, and red colour red to the tyres.

“By order of the owner of the bike, the upholstery of the handmade bobber seat was made with the same skin that he uses for the interior panels in his Ferrari.”
