THERE ARE a lot of quality vehicles, four wheels and two, around the capital region of NSW. With this in mind the Federal Chapter of the Veterans Motorcycle Club put on their first motorcycle Show ‘n Shine at their clubhouse at Seiffert Oval, Queanbeyan. As the home of the Canberra Raiders for the first seven years of their existence with a capacity of 15,000 there was ample room to put on the show and allow for dedicated motorcycle parking at the rear of the grandstand.

The Veterans MC, Federal Chapter, is well known for working for charities, hospitals and the like having raised more than $140,000 over the past 14 years. This show was to be no different with a portion of the money raised on the day going to the Carwoola Bushfire Appeal.

After a hot couple of weeks leading up to the show the day turned out to be in the low 20’s and overcast making a pleasant day for everyone involved.

The categories for the day were Best Euro, Best American, Best Japanese, Best Vespa/Scooter, Best Women’s, and Best Custom/Chopper. There was also a People’s Choice award voted by public ballot.

Around 600 people attended with around 60 entries into the show.

Wandering around the bike park during the day there were many rides that should have been in the show; being the first and checking it out there is a good chance they will front up as entries next year.

There were also a couple of dozen vendors on site, some car boot sales and stalls set up by B.A.C.A. and F.R.O.C. (Female Riders of Canberra).

Raffle prizes aiding the Bushfire Appeal came from the Military Shop, Moto Garage, Kenma Australia, and Supercheap Auto; much appreciated.

Thanks to the judges on the day and to Air Chief Marshall Mark Binskin AC, Chief of the Australian Defence Force and a motorcycle rider himself, for doing the presentations.

A special mention goes to Veterans MC member Snake who put in a massive effort to get this show off the ground as the main co-ordinator, and the members of the club who put in so we could all have a great time.

Enough from me, enjoy the pictures… Mork.
