The Military Suzuki DR650 Sled

HI guys — it’s not a chopper but I thought this might be of interest to you. The DR650 Sled is based on a 2014 Suzuki DR which has been given a go-anywhere military make-over. “If Willys had built a motorbike, what might it have looked like? Something tough, reliable and easy to work on.” This was the idea behind this build.

Immediately noticeable is the brown leather seat, the chunky TKC80 tyres on fatter rims and the lowered suspension which has been re-worked by the legends at Teknik Motorsport. The appearance of the front of the bike is markedly different with a clean looking round LED headlight and a custom front fender over a 19-inch SM Pro laced rim.

Less noticeable are the upgraded front brake, the custom grips and levers, the twin USB charging point and the micro front indicators.

At the rear, the subframe has been shortened and fitted with a new steel mudguard carrying the LED rear light. This is flanked by combined LED indicators and brake lights and protected by a rear utility platform.

Cheers, Keith Wannop.
