The Harley-Davidson Custom Kings Competition Winner

“It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be judged… Harley-Davidson’s Custom Kings 2025 winner,” said John Cage.

FOLLOWING the runaway success of Harley-Davidson’s ‘Number One’ competition in 2024, this year’s ‘Custom Kings’ competition was met with eagerness and friendly rivalry from Harley-Davidson customised motorcycle owners across Australia and New Zealand. The Custom Kings competition had four categories, allowing custom Harley-Davidson owners of all generations and models in Australia and New Zealand to enter. Celebrating the Motor Company’s 122-year history, custom culture, and evolution, each round focused on a different generation of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.

Four category winners were decided by a public vote across the power-plant grouped rounds, who then faced off against each other in a thrilling final, where a winner was decided by the esteemed judging panel. With more than 10,000 public votes, the judges then had the privilege of deciding which bike was the Custom Kings Winner, with John Cage becoming the back-to-back champion, having won the esteemed Number One competition back in 2024.

Overall Winner:

John Cage – 1988 Twin Cam conversion FXR

Category Winners:

Round 1 (Vintage/Pre-Evolution) Sean Connolly — FX Shovelhead.

Round 2 (Evolution) Mark Herbert — 1990 Fat Boy.

Round 3 (Twin Cam) John Cage — 1988 FXR (TC conversion).

Round 4 (Milwaukee Eight) Dave White — 2018 Breakout.

Speaking about the win, John Cage said, “It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be judged by the public and the panel to become Harley-Davidson’s Custom Kings 2025 winner. Congratulations to all the awesome bikes and finalists in the competition.”

“It’s been awesome to witness the incredible craftsmanship that we have seen in this year’s Custom Kings competition, truly the best I’ve seen from our market,” said Nigel Keough, Managing Director for Harley-Davidson ANZ. “A truly worthy winner in John Cage’s FXR custom masterpiece; well done to all our category winners and all those Harley-Davidson enthusiasts that make something great into something incredible.”
