Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron Street Fighter
“When I was a kid I always dreamt of owning a Harley-Davidson, and now I have an Iron Sporty, I can’t stop dreaming of riding it!” said Rob.
MY love of all things motorbikes started at a young age when I was riding trail-bikes with my mates. Like a lot of others, the move up to my first Harley was a gradual progression, sort of a work-in-progress of getting my dream ride, I suppose. I’ve had my fair share of sportsbikes including a CBR XX Super Blackbird Honda, a Kwaka ER-5, and a couple of other bikes that I don’t like to admit to owning!
As soon as I took delivery of my Sporty, I replaced the pipes with something that performed and sounded good — the Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes. The air intake is the Vance & Hines VO2, and it is all tuned to work correctly with the V&H Fuelpak.

The rear shocks are Legend Air Suspension with a Kevlar bag. The air shocks work great! I can lift it a tad for some quick twisty riding or slam it for riding around town. When it’s lowered it completes the look I was after.
I went with the Joker Machine speedo relocation to tidy up the front headlight area.

The bars are 32-inch flat drags and I fitted Devil Customs billet grips to them. I linished the bar-ends to fit in with the theme of the bike.
I had some pin-striping done by a mate of mine, Nathan from Golden Arts. Also I got him to put the ’76’ on the side which is my birth date. I’m a mechanic by trade and swapped Nath a day working on his VL Commodore for the art work. Good deal I thought!

I’m very happy with my bike, and the renewed popularity in Sportsters, has really made me think I have made the right decision in buying this model bike as my first Harley.
A photo at the end of the shoot of my tatt with my two boys’ names just really made a great finish to the day. A big thanks to Ozbike!
