Eye-Ball Harley-Davidson Softail & Chantelle

Must admit, when Craige told us he’d organised his own model to feature on his amazing Softail, we were afraid. We certainly weren’t expecting Chantelle—what a cracker!

MY number plate is DENTS. That’s my trade. I repair hail-damaged cars. I’m a born-and-bred Wollongong boy. I’ve always had dirt bikes and wanted a Harley-Davidson—so I bought one. I bought this Softail from Fraser Motorcycles in Fairy Meadow; it’s my second Harley-Davidson. I sold my previous Harley because I bought the house and thought I needed the money, but as soon as it left the driveway, I kicked myself—so two weeks later I bought this one.

Frasers had done the Softail up as a promo bike. It had the wheels, pegs, grips, handlebars, tuner, pipes. I rode it like that for a while, got over it, sold everything off it, swapped the tins, etc.

I fitted stretched tanks for extra fuel capacity. The contrast cuts wheels are from Southern Machine Works in California. That’s 23-inches on the front. The handlebars are 16-inch Burleigh Bars. It’s a La Pera seat but it’s been custom trimmed by Paul at Aqua’s Auto Skinz.

The paint was done by a Trent Rogers from Six Star Signs & Airbrushing. The colour was left over from my car (I’ve got a street-registered drag car) and I told Trent roughly what I wanted: “You do your own thing with it.”

Yeah, I’m about to start the rebuild again. This time I want to steer clear from flames.

Chantelle

I’M a dental nurse from Penrith in Sydney. I do pole-dancing to keep fit. I’ve been doing it for three-four years. It’s really good fun. I’ve been on plenty of bikes before. My dad has had bikes since I was a baby; I grew up with bikes. I bred Pomeranian dogs so I’m a serious dog lover. I used to do plenty of horse-riding when I was a kid because my uncle owns a breeding farm but not anymore because he lives too far away.

I want to travel to Europe next year before I start to think about starting a family—but I guess that’s every girl’s dream.
