Western Sydney Custom Bike Show

Despite the economic downturn, the recent police harassment of bikers, etc, a new bike show has opened its doors for business.

THIS bike show was held in Marsden Park, Riverstone. The gates opened at 11 am, and those enthusiasts who made the effort to arrive early got to marvel at the sights and sounds of all the beautiful machines arriving for the day. The sound of thunder that roared across the park was electrifying as the bikes entered and prepared to take their places and make their mark on the day.

Wow, you really get a true appreciation of all the hours of hard work and bucket loads of money that go into building these awesome machines when you’re able to get up so close to admire all the workmanship that goes into them.

All the new eye-catching colours and paint schemes that are splashed onto all of these beasts are purely mind-boggling. The contrast between colour and chrome is evident everywhere you turn. The attention to detail is second to none and has to be seen to be believed.

I’m glad all I had to do was take photos because I really didn’t envy the job of the judges who certainly had their work cut out for them deciding who was the best of the best in each class; and as there was 10 different categories for the trophies, this was no easy task.

The show was very well catered for with something for everybody. There was a live band playing all day long; raffles and prizes given away throughout the day; and for the kiddies, there was an amusement area with lots of activities and a big jumping castle to give the parents a break. There were also trade stalls selling everything from T-shirts, belt buckles, DVDs and all the motorcycle accessories you could possibly need; and for the more serious punters looking at joining the elite group of bike builders, there were all types of body kits, wheels, engines and spare parts to choose from.

After walking around and admiring the bikes and cars you were sure to build a big appetite and there was a BBQ stall with volunteers cooking up everything you need from tasty steak and sausage sandwiches to hot chips and all the cold refreshments and beers to quench your thirst.

Thanks to Julz, Mick and Russell for organising the event. The day ran really smooth and a great day was had by all. All proceeds raised on the day were donated to the charity for men’s prostate cancer. So thanks again and well done boys; it’s a great thing that you’ve done.

Also, a special thanks goes out to all the entrants who took the time to come and show off their beautiful custom bikes and cars.
