The Blue Bomba

THIS IS ANOTHER outstanding example of the amazing work coming from King Pin Choppers in Brisbane. Phil, the boss at King Pin Choppers, goes out of his way to procure all the unusual stuff to make these chopper dreams come true. His team includes Rusty and Andrew.
“Rusty, our mechanical foreman, is one person I love working with,” said Phil. “It doesn’t matter how radical the job, he doesn't even blink an eye; the job is done professionally every time. We also have a computer programmer/toolmaker, Brian, who can make anything we throw at him. If the customer wants different forward controls or brakes, Brian can make one-off items you won’t see anywhere else.”
“Its pretty rare to see someone really go out of their way and look for parts no one else has,” said Andrew. “That’s Phil’s greatest asset. It doesn’t matter whether it’s brake systems, front ends, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, if Phil’s ordered it, it’s always going to be unusual, and the best money can buy. It’s a good springboard for building the best choppers in the market.”
“I’ve just come back from a trade show in Cincinnati and I’m up-to-date with all the new trends, all the new parts,” said Phil. “This will allow us to build some really wild bikes in the future.”
“I like the stuff Phil’s bringing out; it’s a real challenge. Although the biggest challenge might be convincing the customer into letting our imaginations go wild when we’ve building him a bike,” said Rusty.
“This chopper was built for a customer from the Gold Coast,” said Phil. “You’ve got to realise it was built as a team effort which includes the customer. We were trying to make it as radical as we could but we were governed by the customer’s taste. He had his own ideas. As it turned out, after the guy saw which direction it was taking, he ended letting us have a free hand. That’s not always the case. Some guys come in here… well, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got all the money in the world if your taste in the arse. As it turned out, the customer’s faith in us was justified. This chopper won People’s Choice at the recent Brisbane Bike Expo. It’s a very important trophy to win because it tells us exactly what the people are thinking. The customer was over the moon too.”
