A TRULY unique space tucked away in the heart of Brisbane’s The Valley, the huge industrial warehouse features exposed brick and beams, an old school gantry and the odd graf piece.
Surrounded on all sides by shiny new office and apartment buildings, the new shop provides those who visit a stunning contrast and a reprieve from the hustle. Inside, you’ll be treated to rows of café racers, bobbers, trackers, and other indefinable two-wheeled machines.
Catering to those looking for one-off, ground-up custom machines, right through to brand new riders chasing a unique, yet affordable, entry-level learner bike. Or even those who just want a taste of the custom scene.
With a coffee shop in-store complete with pool table and lounges, a variety of apparel and accessories, Smoked Garage is a one stop shop for riders of all walks.
Smoked Garage has become internationally renowned, with many of its builds gaining attention in lands as far away as the UAE as evident with their recent invitation to display a couple of their most famous bikes at the exclusive and lucrative Big Boys Toys show in Abu Dhabi.
Owner Shane says, “It’s an honour to have been approached to display our bikes at this prestigious event, as the first bike-builder to represent Australia.”
Smoked Garage began in 2010 in Bali, Indonesia, as a small concept workshop, building custom bikes for the local market, growing rapidly and quickly building an international client base and sending machines to all corners of the globe. Seeing an opportunity to grow the custom bike scene in Brisbane, and taking inspiration from the thriving established scenes found in Sydney and Melbourne, Shane wanted to create a unique space for riders of all walks to converge, enjoy a coffee and talk bikes.
“We’ve got huge things planned for the space… events, show ‘n’ shines, markets, and of course regular ride days.
“We work with our clients closely, from concept to creation, taking into consideration all the things important to them, and ensuring we build them the bike of their dreams. Even if you’ve only ever given a thought to jumping on a bike, we’ll help get you started by guiding you through the licencing process, sorting you out with rider training and coaching, and then working with you to build your dream bike that fits within your budget.”
“We’re also proud to be an authorised dealer of Newcastle (NSW) based manufacturer Sol Invictus, stocking both LAMS-approved models, the 250 cc Mercury and the bigger 400 cc Nemesis. These rides are absolutely perfect for beginners and regular commuters; they’re the perfect blank canvas for anyone wanting something a bit different from the norm without the prohibitive price tag.”
