Better than Viagra Choppers

SHANE CAME to Better than Viagra Choppers and said he’d bought some parts from America and he had bit of a problem with them. The guys had a look and discovered a chopper in the making. Problem was, Shane had bought so many parts from the States and he didn’t have a clue how it all went together.

Better than Viagra Choppers started with a Pro-One, Pro-Quad frame. The quad rear-end has two pivot points which pivot together, and air suspension underneath. It gives the bike an incredibly smooth ride.

They put on a 4.5 gallon tank and stretched it another six inches right down to where the seat is. They used the existing Pro-One oil tank but modified it to give it a little more capacity.

They put another cover below the oil tank where the air pump, coil, regulator, all the electrics, have been hidden. It looks like an extension of the oil tank.

Shane’s original rear guard was unacceptable. Apparently he’d watched too many Orange County Chopper DVDs and wanted no rear guard. The guys at Better than Viagra Choppers explained to him that you can’t register a bike in Australia without a rear guard and they set about creating something minimalistic.

The Paul Yaffe hand controls were fitted to Better than Viagra Choppers’ own handlebars. Shane said he didn’t want a speedo up there, just clean handlebars, so it was moved to the top of the rocker-box with the oil-pressure gauge.

The Cobra headlight is 4.5 inches in diameter, 7.5 inches long, and it’s spaced 10.5 inches forward to give the bike a nice flowing line.

The seat was made as small as possible but is still functional. The aluminium pan was trimmed in natural ostrich skin to match the paintwork.

The painting was done by Queensland Motorcycle Panel & Paint. Shane wanted skulls or devils and real fire but different to everyone else’s. Queensland Motorcycle Panel & Paint did a really fantastic job coming up with something original.

According to Shane, the finished chopper rides beautifully.

“I get to the 300 km mark and most of the other guys I’m riding with want to stop and have a rest but I just want to keep going,” he said. “And yes, I ride it every day of the week, dead set…”
